Valence Security Named a Leader and Fast Mover in 2024 GigaOm Radar for SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM)

SaaS Security Company Recognized for Management of SaaS Configurations, Security Policies, and Automated Remediation Capabilities

NEW YORK, AUGUST 27, 2024 Valence Security, the only SaaS security platform delivering comprehensive SSPM, advanced risk remediation, and ITDR capabilities, today announced that it has been named a "Leader" and “Fast Mover” in GigaOm's first annual report for SaaS Security Posture Management. The report highlights Valence Security’s strength in offering a comprehensive range of capabilities that provide broad SaaS coverage, posture management, and advanced risk remediation capabilities.

Valence, as a Leader and Fast Mover, scored three stars or above across all criteria, and is recognized for the ability to manage security posture while adding additional value in reporting, auditing, integrations, and remediation. Specifically, high ratings (four and five stars) were achieved in key features including SaaS configuration, policy management, and SIEM/data feed integrations. In comparing business criteria, Valence scored four stars in both flexibility and security posture. The report calls out automated remediation as a strong feature of the platform. With a powerful built-in policy engine, it makes it easy to build complex responses to SaaS risks.

“Today, most organizations have not even started on their SaaS security journeys,” said GigaOm Analyst Paul Stringfellow, who co-authored the GigaOm Radar report on SSPM. “The fact that everyone has a lot of SaaS, and few organizations can even generate a list of all SaaS vendors in use, means that there will be an explosion of customers looking to at least understand the scale of the problem—and they will come to these products.”

Valence's State of SaaS Security Report reveals that while 96% of security leaders identified SaaS security as a high priority, there remains an abundance of security challenges. These include configuration complexity, distributed adoption and management by non-security business units, and lifecycle management. High-profile SaaS-related breaches such as the Microsoft Midnight Blizzard and the Snowflake attack campaign illustrate these challenges. Even with the high prioritization of SaaS security, more than half (58%) of organizations experienced a SaaS security incident within the past 12-18 months, according to Valence’s report.

“Recent breaches have significantly increased the market interest in SaaS security and this recognition is a testament to Valence's commitment to solving the complex modern challenges organizations face in securing their SaaS environments," said Yoni Shohet, Co-founder and CEO at Valence Security. "Our platform empowers security teams to find and fix SaaS risks, as well as detect threats, enabling businesses to confidently adopt and leverage SaaS applications."

The Radar report examines 17 of the top SSPM solutions in the market and compares offerings against the capabilities and nonfunctional requirements outlined in the companion Key Criteria report. The report provides an overview of the category and its underlying technology and helps decision-makers evaluate these solutions so that they can make a more informed investment decision.
